Trace Browser Memory Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 9, 2026
Trace Browser Memory helps you save, search, restore, and organize your browser sessions. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how it is protected.
Data Trace Stores
Trace stores saved browser sessions locally in your browser using Chrome storage. A saved session can include tab titles, tab URLs, favicons, timestamps, tags, pinned status, and optional session summaries that you create or edit.
Data Trace Does Not Collect
Trace does not collect personal information on an external server, sell data, track you across websites, or use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking services.
How Data Is Used
Session data is used only to provide extension features, including saving current tabs, restoring saved sessions, searching saved sessions, importing and exporting session JSON, and keeping a recent auto-save history.
Where Data Is Stored
Your session data remains on your device in Chrome local extension storage unless you choose to export it. Exported JSON files are created only when you use the export feature.
Permissions
Trace requests browser permissions needed to read tab titles and URLs, save session data locally, and run periodic auto-save checks. These permissions are used only for the extension features described here.
Data Sharing
Trace does not share your saved session data with the developer or with third parties.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete individual sessions or clear all saved sessions from inside the extension. You can also remove all Trace data by uninstalling the extension from Chrome.
